Ngana Nyitting Limited Edition Three Coin PNC - Impressions 2025
Kevin Bynder and was born in Boorloo/Perth in 1975 to a Whadjuk-Yued Nyungar mother and a Widi-Badimia Yamatji father. The title of this stamp issue, Ngana Nyitting, translates as “My Dreaming” in the Yamatji (Ngana) and Nyungar (Nyitting) languages. The stamps show the Country of Bynder’s ancestors, including Whadjuk Country of Boorloo/Perth on the first stamp, the Yamatji region in mid-west Western Australia on the second stamp, and the Country of the Yued people, north of Boorloo/Perth, on the third stamp. The stamps show animals and plants, such as the Yonga (kangaroo), Weitj (emu), Karak (black cockatoo) and Balga (grass tree), which are of particular significance to these peoples. A highly successful artist nationally and internationally, Kevin Bynder’s studio and merchandise company is based in the Boorloo/Perth suburb of Wangara.
