This stunning silver coin features a central opal insert displaying its beautiful array of colour in the shape of the Australian continent. Mined in three Australian states, opal is a colourful gemstone which in its most precious form is renowned for a spectacular 'play of colours'. The precious insert is encircled by representations of iconic Australian animals including the kangaroo, emu, koala, echidna, wombat, bilby, Tasmanian devil, frilled-neck lizard, goanna and the eastern brown snake.

Also included on the reverse is the coin's 2020 year-date, its weight and fineness, and The Perth Mint's 'P' mintmark.
