2026 $1 Mob of Six Roos 1oz 60th Anniversary Decimal Currency Silver Proof Coin

For the 2026 release in the long-running Kangaroo Series, the Royal Australian Mint is proud to present Mob of Six Roos – a tribute to six decades of Australian decimal currency.

Following the changeover to decimal currency in 1966, the kangaroo appeared on the fifty-cent coin, within the coat of arms. When the one-dollar coin entered the scene in 1984, replacing the one-dollar note, it featured a mob of five kangaroos. This iconic design by Stuart Devlin captures both the stillness and dynamism of these quintessentially Australian animals.

For the 2026 Kangaroo Series, a sixth kangaroo has been added to Devlin's iconic coin design. The six kangaroos together represent six decades since the introduction of decimal currency in 1966. The design is featured on all three coins in the collection.

The collection includes silver and gold proof coins, the peak demonstration of the Mint’s commitment to artistic and engineering excellence. To complete the collection is a silver frosted uncirculated coin, with highly polished, striking imagery against a frosted background.
