2025 Aussie Big Things 2 $1 AlBr Uncirculated – The Big Strawberry

The small town of Koonoomoo, nestled in northern Victoria’s prime fruit-growing region along the Goulburn Valley Highway near the Murray River, is on the traditional lands of the Yorta Yorta Bangerang people. Its standout attraction is the bright red Big Strawberry, proudly displayed at the family-run Big Strawberry farm.

Standing over six metres tall and five metres wide, the fibreglass-and-steel structure was built in 2005 to draw visitors to the farm. Today, it’s the centrepiece of a thriving tourist spot where visitors can pick strawberries in season, enjoy the café and shop, and let the kids play in the onsite playground.

Adding a quirky personal touch, the Big Strawberry’s vivid colour comes from Ford Monza Red—a nod to one of the owners’ passion for Ford cars.
