2022 Wallal Centenary $1 Australia Tests Einstein's Theory UNC

SKU: RAM10801

In 1922, the international scientific community turned its attention to an expedition in Wallal, Western Australia, where scientists aimed to capture photographs of a total solar eclipse on September 21. Precise measurements of star positions near the eclipsed Sun were taken, providing crucial evidence in support of Einstein’s groundbreaking Theory of General Relativity.

To mark the centenary of this historic event, the Royal Australian Mint has issued a $1 uncirculated aluminium bronze coin and a domed $5 silver proof coin.
